The Coteaux du Lyonnais
The Coteaux du Lyonnais are located 10km west and south of Lyon, between the Beaujolais vineyards to the north and the Rhone Valley to the south. The reds and rosés are made from Gamay, a black grape variety with white juice, while the main grape variety for the whites is Chardonnay.
The Beaujolais
At the gates of the Lyonnais, the Beaujolais region is rich in discoveries with large areas of vineyards and pretty golden stone villages. Known for its red wines made from 99% of the Gamay grape variety, light and fruity, the production of this wine region is divided into 12 AOCs: Beaujolais, Beaujolais Villages and ten crus.
Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages are expected every year, on the third Thursday of November, all over the world on the occasion of the "Beaujolais nouveau" festival.
The Côte-Rôtie
Located south of Lyon, on the heights of Vienne, this wine region has sloping soils and stone walls. As powerful as it is elegant, its wines come from a complex blend of floral aromas from Syrah and Viognier. These wines are the perfect accompaniment to red meats and game.
